For the ongoing collective knowledge of us to be kept intact, and unadorned, we had to find another way and the advance of technology has both helped, and hindered that effort. Technology has made us false and complacent and pressed us into a mindful satiety, not unlike what those who tended the Alexandria library must have thought about their invincibility of purpose. Ideas are fireproof -- but the system of selling and of preservation is always fragile and vincible. There is no container invented that will protect our facts and thoughts and truths from decomposition or corruption, and so we must always refresh them and test them against each other and do our best to store these nuggets of human living within each other and within ourselves and that process of re-education must never stop in the storytelling.
