Boyd Barrett
Narrator

Boyd Barrett

Boyd Barrett spent decades on stage and screen before focusing his voice on audiobook narration. After early shows in high school and college in the 70s, he toured the country with a six-person drama group and went on to perform one-man shows throughout the Southwest in the 80s and 90s, including Trouble in Lincoln County, which told the story of the Lincoln County War and Billy the Kid through the eyes of multiple characters. His stage roles include Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Henry II in The Lion in Winter, Javert in Les Misérables, and the Narrator in Into the Woods, among many others.

In recent years, Boyd has voiced dozens of characters across audio dramas, including the lead role of Einarr in Waiting to Die in a Tent, A Few Thoughts on Valhalla, a 2020 Platinum Selection of the HEAR Now Festival. He was a finalist in the 2022 AudioVerse Awards and received an Earphones Award from AudioFile Magazine in April 2025. His current project is Come and See: An Immersive Audio Experience, a surround sound audio treatment of the life of Jesus. Boyd lives with his wife Kathy, with whom he has two children and seven grandchildren.
