Mia Fothergill

Mia Fothergill is a narrator who has lived a life in three acts (so far). Born in the South of England, the first act, as a child actor, saw her find her feet in the performing world by appearing in many notable films, television shows, and stage productions, including A Room With A View and Antony Sher’s much-lauded and memorable production of Richard III, among others.

Her second act, by contrast, saw her graduate university with a BSc (Hons) in Midwifery, leading to nearly twenty years working as a Registered Midwife across two continents, supporting women as they grew their families. After having her own children and choosing to make Canada her permanent home, she found herself looking for a third act, a career that would combine her myriad skills to build a satisfying and enjoyable life in her new home. Enter: voiceover.

Since making voiceover her full-time career in the 2010s, she has been lucky enough to front commercials for companies like Mercedes-Benz and Gordon’s Gin, produce training courses for UNESCO on subjects like the protection of cultural heritage in conflict situations, narrate an animated children’s series for MARVEL, and voice several factual series for Go Button Media, including The Animal Within and Into the Universe. Once she discovered the joys of narrating audiobooks, her focus began to shift somewhat, and she is currently working on her twenty-second book, with titles across a wide range of genres in both the Fiction and Non-Fiction realms.
